Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has criticized the ongoing demand for a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of Liam Light, the late Mohbad’s son, emphasizing that the focus should be on seeking justice for the singer’s death.
In a recent live social media session, the mother of two temporarily set aside the conversation surrounding the untimely death of the singer and his father’s request for a DNA test on his grandson.
The actress emphasized that the paternity test serves as a significant distraction and doesn’t absolve Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi Aloba, from suspicion, whether Liam Light is confirmed to be the singer’s biological child or not.
Iyabo Ojo further expressed that the matter is more of a family issue to be addressed privately, diverting attention from the search for the perpetrator in the singer’s death.
She concluded by stating that Wunmi holds the authority to decide whether or not to consent to the DNA test, pending the release of the autopsy report for the late singer.
“DNA was not part of our justice for Mohbad, so it does not really concern us. But his dad came out to say he wants DNA because that was one of the distractions and narratives they brought out and he wants them to do it since they want to do it. Okay, that’s fine! But that’s a family matter, it has got nothing to do with justice for Mohbad,” she said in part.
