Nigerian actor Femi Adebayo’s wife, Aduke Adebayo, has taken to social media to respond to the criticism and backlash her husband faced from some Nigerian Muslims after he celebrated International Beer Day.
Recalls that, Femi Adebayo took to social media to celebrate International Beer Day, an annual event dedicated to enjoying and appreciating the world’s alcoholic beverage.
Sharing a photo of himself holding a bottle of Torphy beer, Femi Adebayo who is an ambassador to Torphy Lagar beer captioned the post, “Happy International Beer Day from Trophy, #honorablewagbayi #trophylagerbeer #youdeservearefreshingtrophy.”
Shortly after Femi Adebayo shared the post on social media, comments from offended Muslims flooded his page, criticizing him for promoting a substance considered haram (forbidden) in Islam. They argued that alcohol consumption goes against the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) hadiths.
Many expressed their disapproval and disappointment with the actor’s post, citing their religious beliefs that alcohol is forbidden in Islam.
Reacting to this, Femi Adebayo’s wife took to the comment section to addressed the issue. She urged people to be more understanding and tolerant of others’ choices and beliefs, emphasizing that her husband is a circular actor.
She said: @basque_in_glory go on a Muslim page if you don’t like this content . He’s a circler ACTOR he’s not districted to Muslims or non drinker. Be civilized!
